Harry Potter fans can jump for joy with broomstick training set to return at Alnwick Castle
and live on Freeview channel 276
The visitor attraction was where Harry Potter honed his skills on the broom for his epic quidditch encounters featured in the first film.
The broomstick workshops will return on April 12 following the government’s easing of Covid-19 restrictions.

Hide AdVisitors will also be free to roam around to enjoy archery, watch falconry demonstrations, see lots of craft demonstrations and eat outside the cafes as normality begins to come back again in the beautiful grounds.
Whilst the state rooms remain closed for the time being, there is a lot to explore and enjoy in the extensive grounds.
James Boyd, the castle’s activities manager, said: “I think all our staff are excited and seeing people having fun makes it all worthwhile.
"Opening the outside entertainment first is a sensible step, and we’re already looking forward to an excellent summer.

If the national roadmap to reopening is unchanged, it is expected that the castle itself and all indoor facilities will be reopen from May 17.
Social distancing rules for visitors and staff alike will be in place. As a result, visitor numbers will be capped each day to avoid crowding. Bookings can be made at www.alnwickcastle.com
