Light railway is back on track with a new artist on board
Harsh winter conditions damaged part of the narrow gauge railway, which runs for 2.25 miles between Heatherslaw and Etal.
Paul Smith, managing director, said: “The railway opened on Sunday after a pretty brutal winter’s work.

“Moving forward we will be renovating the next coach throughout the year having completed and returned another one back into service after the winter. Always more work to do!”
Meanwhile, visitors to the Heatherslaw Light Railway will now be able to take a look into a local illustrator’s working studio.
Imogen Aitchison of Imogen Louise Design has a new home in the antique caravan at Heatherslaw station.
